Only the Heart Knows：Time Is Not Generous

   “Only the heart knows : time is not generous,”  Once my best friend said, but we are generous. 

    Seven years ago, my elder sister, together with me , stepped into this campus, full of hope, both of us. I left here at dusk with tears rolling in my eyes just like the first time she was into middle school and ever since then the time we spent together has been shrinking. But she’s taught me how to love.

    Four years later, I, again, stepped into this campus, this time for myself. Then time sped up. It seemed still thousand days and nights to go through before the NCEE, but meanwhile just like an arrow flies across my sight: the life here is coming to an end now. You never know how I was touched to tears when I noticed my parents’ hair gradually turned white and they were no longer so strong and energetic as before. They’ve turned from my shelter to the persons who need my protection and care . But they’ve taught me how to face the world bravely.

    Having met a few friends, defined as“a single soul dwelling in two bodies” by Aristotle, days never go with much burden or depression, especially when my best friend is always here really to listen to my heart’s saying. But it was really a rough time when there were some misunderstandings between us, which I had thought I could not have been able to get through. However, these misunderstandings  eventually have faded away. Time can’t be lengthened by man’s subjective will, but it can be shortened by his wasting it. And I spent so long a time sinking in the sorrow thinking I might lose my best friend. It’s actually a fortune that everything turns out to be bright again. And she’s taught me how to appreciate.

    All people have heart for mercy. But it’s often a flashing thought across one’s mind that decides whether it’s good or evil. There does exist some situation where you get into a tight place and everything goes against you till it seems as though you could not hold on anymore. But never give up then and hold on for a single second longer, for that is just the place and time that tide will turn. And you are more likely to get a wholly new understanding of what you are experiencing. It’s merely a task from the God and as long as you manage to undertake it, the gate to your will open for you. Please always remember, time is not generous, but we are generous.
